 Poor design, spills over counter September 5, 2010

I purchased this item May 2009 so I have over a years experience. I cannot count the number of times I have vowed never to purchase another Cuisinart product.
Looks great, and love the thermal carafe but overall its very poorly designed. You have to be careful when loading the water because various obstructions at the top of the water container make the water splash. However, those most annoying thing by far is the tendency for the coffee to spill all over the counter top if you have not set it up just right. Every night (if I want coffee in the morning) I must remember to verify the filter is seated correctly, the coffee is not ground too finely, and that I have not added more the 8 1/2 cups of water.
As someone previously mentioned, the coffee is somewhat weak. I tried using finer grounds but that resulted in it overflowing.
Poor design, weak coffee; I would recommend another product.

i was anxious to get this coffee maker. the description offered by both amazon, cuisenart is wrong. Therefore the coffee maker is too tall for the place in my home.
i had a most difficult time correcting the mistake, returning it and getting the whole situation corrected for both myself and future purchasers. If you are buying a coffee maker with a specific size in mind be careful. The coffee maker itself is just fine in appearance and i would imagine in performance.
Repeatedly spills all over counter! August 17, 2010

I was so happy to finally find a coffee maker with a decent sized thermal carafe to replace my old tried and true Black and Decker that dribbles with each use. Little did I know that from day 1 this coffee maker would repeatedly spill all over my counter instead of brewing the coffee into the carafe. I have not been able to find a grind that does not spill. At first, I thought it was the gold filter, so I stopped using that. Didn't help. Changed the grind, didn't help. I can find no rhyme or reason why some days it spills and some days it doesn't. Very frustrating.
I am in search of another thermal carafe coffee maker that is a decent size and delivers coffee in the morning and not a mess. Until now, I thought Cuisiniart made quality products, however this combined with our new Cuisinart toaster oven that burns your finger while opening unless you are very careful makes me say thumbs down to the company that does not test their products before putting them out into the marketplace.
No more Cuisinart for me. This coffee maker stinks.

makes great coffee and keeps it fresh for literally hours without any burnt flavor. Because it never burns the coffee were able to use leftovers for iced later in the day. cleans easily in the dishwasher too.
Coffee not hot/weak coffee July 5, 2010

Coffee does not come out very hot. Its also much weaker regardless of how much coffee you brew. I have a friend who bought the Cuisinart Brew Central. It has the option that allows you to change the heat. It also brews a nice strong coffee. Will be trading this Cuisinart for that one.
