Messy and Leaky September 8, 2010 Karen Miner (San Diego CA) I can manage to make a good frappuccino, but this machine has problems. First of all, before it is all blended and all ice crushed up, it starts spinning in place. Only a little bit on the bottom is being chopped while the rest seperates and sits there doing nothing while the blade is wildly spinning. Thus I have to turn it off, open it and I use a long wooden spoon to push the 3/4 on the top back down. I have to do this many times, so I basically don't let it automatically blend, but push the button myself. I have to put a cover on the hole of the top so liquid doesn't spurt out of it. Even with that, sometimes the ice is shoved to the top with such force a lot of liquid will escape from around the edges of the cap. And this is with the level at the max mark. I don't know if it would do better with less, but that is the amount I like to make. Also, even tho this is just irritating, it does leak from the bottom. Not so much that it is all over the place. But it does dribble off the bottom. I have taken it apart and cleaned it and made sure the rubber ring, which is suppose to prevent leakage, is correctly in place and it still leaks. Since this is the only frappuccino maker I can find, I have learned to get around all the frustrating setbacks, but I do love the end product. I have tried making frappuccinos with my blender and they just don't turn out as well.
Great machine! September 6, 2010 Cindy This machine is wonderful! So easy to use. Read the directions and you will have no problems. I love the recipe book the comes with it. It has been alot of fun making new drinks and sharing them with others.
Not worth the money September 1, 2010 ceadie1 I purchased this as a Christmas present for myself. It worked to an extent but not nearly as well as the reviews had led me to believe. Some reviewers compared it to what you would buy at Starbucks but that is not what I experienced. I was very disappointed in the consistency of the frappe's that I made. Even with experimenting, I was not able to duplicate something that would make me quit buying them elsewhere. To me it wasn't any better than using a regular blender. After it's fifth use, the base of the blending jar cracked. The cheapest replacement was $19.99 plus $9.99 for shipping. I didn't like the appliance enough to invest another $30.00 into it and threw it away. Save your money.
Don't need it August 26, 2010 Maria Guerra (Denver, CO USA) A Magic Bullet and Mocafe is all you need ... and a lot easier to clean up.
