I don't recommend this coffee maker. I have had it less than a year and it leaks, the non stick plate has pieces of the coating gone.The coffee pot has burned coffee from the coffee leaking in the back by the pause panel. I really liked the design and the quality of coffee that is brewed, but lasting under a year is unacceptable.

Bought one a few months ago, and had some issues with weak coffee after about a month, but the hot plate cracked so I got a replacement. After two months, only had water hitting the middle of the coffee grounds so the coffee was weak again. Cleaned the machine and it was better but went back to its old ways within a week. The aroma button does nothing. After reading the reviews, my guess is that if you are in a high mineral water area like I am, you don't want to buy this machine. Too bad because I LOVE the design. May go back to a cheap Mr. Coffee where I can access the mineral sediments easily.

I purchased this coffee maker for my apt at college. The front loading feature is great! This alone makes this machine stand apart. It came with a reusable filter which is also nice, (but i still use paper in it for ease of cleaning). The machine works well, but is minimal on features. Of course how many features does a person really need? At my permanent home we use a Cusine Art from which I am drawing the comparison. Other than the extra bells and whistles, the DeLonghi is as fast and makes as good of a cup of coffee. When it arrived, the box was a very worn as if it had been inventoried a few times and may have been an "overstock". But inside all was fine. Shipping was within a week and the price was GREAT!
Leaks from the bottom after 3 months of owning it September 4, 2010

After three months of owning this coffee pot, it began leaking from the bottom of the maker. It leaks so bad that when we get up in the morning the coffee is on the floor instead of in the pot. Worst $70 I have ever spent.

This has been a perfect coffeemaker for our household! I love that the arm pulls out to pour the water in so that I don't have to pull the coffeemaker out from the wall to accomplish the same thing. The coffee tastes great and I have never had a problem with the temperature. The timer works the same as most other coffee makers. We have had ours for more than 6 months.
