WE BOUGHT THIS COFFEEMAKER TO REPLACE A 2 YR OLD CUSINART POT BECAUSE THE CARAFE STARTED DRIBBLING A LOT. WHAT A MISTAKE. THE WATER SPILLS EVERYWHERE WHEN FILLING.(UNLESS YOU GO VERY VERY SLOW AND THE POT DRIBBLES WHEN YOU GO TO FILL YOUR CUP. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. CAN'T WAIT TO GET A NEW ONE EVEN THOUGH THIS IS ONLY A MONTH OLD.

This is the worst coffeemaker I have ever owned. The design is so poor that it is impossible to fill it with water without causing a flood. The water well is located at the back of the maker when you flip open the lid and the angle prevents you from filling up the well with the coffee pot. You have to use several measuring cups to fill it, and be sure to have plenty of paper towels handy as the water goes everwhere. The coffee tastes pretty good, but no better than other makers that are much more user friendly. The "good" news is that it stopped working completely 4 months after I bought it, so I was able to happily throw it in the trash and replace it with another brand. I was so relieved to be rid of it that I wasn't even angry. Be warned!

1 out of 5 stars Save your cash.. consider a Cuisinart, Breville, Braun instead..   July 19, 2010

the latest Krups USA corporate motto is 'Precision, Perfection, Passion'.... unfortunately the design and manufacturing team behind this auto drip coffee brewer missed the memo. yes its 'easy on the eyes'. the black housing and stainless steel accents will compliment most kitchens. and yes the brewed coffee product is superb. however put aesthetics and 'cup o' joe'aside, this small kitchen appliance is well just dreadful. other reviewers have commented on the difficulty of pouring water into the reservoir (yes), coffee grind overflows (yes); but perhaps the most frustrating design flaw is the carafe. could you ever imagine that a carafe would exhibit dribble syndrome?? this model does. and its not for lack of not trying. no matter how careful one is.... pouring a cup of coffee with nerves of steel one is bound to drip coffee everywhere. its become the joke in the house.. 'whats the over/under on dribbles before getting a a healthy cup?'. its enough to make one give up coffee for good. save your money and trips to the market for paper towels. if your in the market for an auto drip coffee brewer consider another brand.

1 out of 5 stars Will never buy another Krups product   July 17, 2010

Brewed good coffee but...the first one quit after 5 months with smoke coming out of it. Krups customer service replaced that one but it took 6 months to get the replacement. The second one failed this morning...turned on but nothing happens. This time only 4 months of use. Since I originally paid $50 over the amount it is currently selling for, I can only guess that price has been reduced to account for its failure rate! Unit was only used to make 1 pot of coffee per day.

2 out of 5 stars Poorly Engineered, not durable   July 2, 2010

Poorly Engineered: Water reservoir is designed to be filled by a sink spray hose, not water in the carafe, as it is almost impossible to pour water from the carafe into the machine because the machine's hinged lid is in the way. The carafe lid is poorly designed because the hole in the lid causes liquid to spill around the glass notch - hold the lid up in the air while pouring works to avoid spilling all over. Disassembling the carafe for the dishwasher - you have to hold your breath and pray you don't break off the tabs as you yank really hard to get the plastic cover off. The heating section died in the middle of making coffee on the 57th day. Taking it back to Costco today. Doesn't anybody make a decent coffee pot anymore?
