Great coffee maker. June 12, 2010 Orman West (NJ,USA) Does just what it was made for.Makes up to 12 cups of "GREAT" coffee in less than 15 min.
Very easy clean up.You can't beat the price.
Stopped functioning after a month--Fire Hazard March 16, 2010 Alan Mccright (Montana) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My better-half and I looked at a great many coffee makers. We agreed that, largely, anything under $100 seemed to be hideously ugly, poorly-made, crap. Prior experience taught us that inexpensive coffee makers may last no longer than a year, so we decided not to pay for bells and whistles--even a timed shut-off--using the money saved to buy a *lot* of really good coffee beans, (we highly recommend the Sumatran coffee from World Market).
This coffee maker does what we want: It makes water properly hot, then filters that hot water into the carafe through the ground coffee. That's all it does--or need do. It isn't painful to look at and takes up minimum counter-space.
The maker takes 15-minutes to make a 12-cup carafe-full of great-tasting coffee.
We will buy another when this one conks out.
Not filterless: Requires buying flat-bottomed paper filters or a permanent filter.
>>> SINCE I GAVE THE ABOVE, 16 MARCH, REVIEW:

The coffee maker has ceased making coffee, instead producing clouds of steam which stripped the laminate off my cabinet. After ONE HOUR there were only two cups of coffee in the carafe and six left in the reservoir; the rest of the twelve cups of water--four cups--was turned to steam.
It now makes the water TOO hot and stops the flow into the carafe. As a Firefighter I see this as a fire hazard.
This coffemaker is being returned for a refund!
Great March 8, 2010 Twiggsy Just set my timer and have my coffee ready for when I get up. So far no problems.
Would recomend this.
Short life is not unique! February 6, 2010 B Broman (West Bend, WI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've had the 12-cup Mr Coffee (simple style) for less than a year. The warming plate just quit warming, so we're in the market for another maker.
At this point, we'll go with another one of these $20+ models, since our experience with more expensive models of different brands shows that no manufacturer seems to get much longevity from drip makers.
Good Coffee with No Frills February 3, 2010 ladyfingers (Northern Michigan) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you are a coffee drinker needing no bells and whistles, this machine is for you. I don't ask much from a $20 coffee pot except a decent cup of coffee. This Mr. Coffee delivers, and its design is a step up from our previous Mr. Coffee, which was also their cheapest model. It would be nice if the company worked on a carafe that pours without spilling though. I have never purchased any Mr. Coffee machines, cheap or expensive, that poured well. Having owned other brands, I know it's not the person pouring. Other than that, no problems.
